Fear and Separation

Fear marks the edge of our separation. To face fear, any fear is to grow past that bit of separateness. The fear of becoming who is the all of fear and each piece of fear we face is but a different facet of that false jewel of littleness.
Last Lines
No Coward soul is mine,
No trembler in the world’s
storm – troubled sphere:
I see heaven’s glories shine,
And faith shines equal
-arming me from fear.
O god within my breast,
Almighty, ever-present diety!
Life – that in me has rest,
As I – Undying Life
- have power in Thee!
Emile Bronte
The Commando’s Prayer
Give me, my God, what you still have;
give me what no one asks for.
I do not ask for wealth, nor success,
nor even health.
People ask you so often, God, for all that,
that you cannot have any left.
Give me, my God, what you still have.
Give me what people refuse to accept from you.
I want insecurity and disquietude;
I want turmoil and brawl.
And if you should give them to me,
my God, once and for all,
let me be sure to have them always,
for I will not always
have the courage to ask for them.
